Eagle Left Cocalico High School Alumni Association Eagle Right

Message from Jay Hertzog, President

To my fellow alums of Cocalico Union High School and Cocalico High School:

As someone who spent his entire working career in education (41 years), I can attest to the importance of an EXCELLENT EDUCATION and its value in today’s world. Regardless of what you did following graduation, entered the workforce, the military, or continued your education, the years you spent at Cocalico helped to prepare you for life. It is my pleasure to invite you to become active in YOUR alumni association – the Cocalico Alumni Association (CAA). Since joining the board six years ago, I have seen the association and its activities grow in number and service to OUR community. Membership in YOUR association is FREE and all we ask is that you provide us with your email address so you can receive the CAA newsletter (published quarterly) to stay abreast of activities that are taking place and hopefully encourage you to participate (once again, at no cost).

As my predecessor, Al Dissinger, noted YOUR association provides the following to alumni and graduating seniors:

  • Events to raise funds for scholarships to graduating seniors – the number of available scholarships has grown over the years
  • Electronic newsletters to keep YOU, CAA alums updated about what is taking place in Cocalico World
  • CAA website (cocalicoalumni.org) that includes yearbooks dating back to the Denver High School Class of 1905 -- 1955 and begins the Cocalico name in 1956 (including a brief history of the Cocalico School District and why “Union” was dropped from our high school’s name)
  • Alumni news and information about upcoming Alumni events
  • Socials and trips for Alumni and their friends to enjoy at reasonable costs
  • Fundraising events for local charities

The work done by YOUR alumni association is done by volunteers. If you have an idea for a project or are interested in helping out YOUR association, either with your presence, idea, or a financial gift (donations can be sent to: Cocalico Central Office, 800 S. 4th. Street, Denver, PA 17517 P O Box 800 – and make checks out to “Cocalico Alumni Association”), please contact one of our board members. We are always in need of volunteers to serve on committees or to help out at events.

In closing, thanks for visiting YOUR association website and wanting to stay in touch with YOUR high school.

C. Jay Hertzog
